As pertaining to motion pictures, describes any film that exploits, in its marketing or promotion, the use of stereoscopic (3-dimensional) filmmaking techniques.

This blog is my notepad as I research a nonfiction book spotlighting 3-D genre films of the last century. While the book will focus primarily on films from the 60's, 70's and 80's this blog has no restrictions.

Eyeware

Well, it was due to happen sometime. Just as I was in the process of reviewing a couple of Blu-ray 3D disc for The Three Dimensions of Terror over at the Rue Morgue website, my Sony 3-D eyeware died. So after eight months of somewhat light 3DTV viewing they are due for new batteries. Almost makes me wish I’d gotten a Panasonic system with rechargeable glasses.

The happy coincidence is that the Sony glasses happen to use the same CR2032 batteries that are used in my 10-year-old standard definition shutterglasses, and half as many too. My old pair uses two and the Sony's run on only one. I happen to have a few spares, so I’m up and running again. Look for reviews of The Final Destination and Priest soon.

New vs old.
